First, let’s just get this out of the way. Swearing in for the newly elected Grundy officials is scheduled for Monday, August 22, 6pm at the courthouse, second floor. The Honorable Judge Trey Anderson will officiate. New officials will not take office until Sept. 1. Municipal candidate deadline to file is Thursday, Aug. 18 at noon. The Municipal elections will coincide with the State and Federal General elections in Tennessee on Tuesday, Nov. 8. God Bless each and every person on that ballot.

Whew. Personally, I am getting ready for the Beersheba Springs Arts and Crafts Fair at the end of the month. Really, the last hurrah of summer for us. I know my girl Kayla, can’t wait to talk about pumpkins and fall fun. I know the fellas have missed football and hunting. I can’t wait to cruise around the back roads on gorgeous fall days. But until then, we still have some last summer blasts this month. Check the schedule below!

Jamboree is this Friday. After listening to the speeches at our sports hall of fame night, I can’t help but be inspired by those people who gave their all for our community, and the difference it made in the people’s lives around them. We all have that opportunity here; every effort counts in our circle of life. God Bless each and every person who inspires our children.

Live Pro Wrestling is back on Aug. 20 at Altamont Ballfield. I absolutely love these guys and their hearts. The James gang and Living it Ministries will be providing the entertainment. Bell Time is 7 p.m.

We are entering Homecoming and Reunion season, so just shoot me an email if you want to list your event date. iva@ivamichellerussell.com
